DEPUTY CARE MANAGER at Avocet House  

Salary £25,295 to £27,905 (depending on experience) plus sleeping in bonus as per rota

We are looking for a Deputy Care Manager to join our team at Avocet House, near Loddon, on a full time permanent basis.

The Deputy Care Manager is an important management role, leading the home’s operation during any period of duty management and holding case co-ordinating responsibility.  The person appointed to this role will play a pivotal part in consolidating and developing care practice within Specialist Education Services.

The successful candidate will be one of our team of 5 DCMs supporting the Registered Manager and Head of Care. Our DCMs lead shift teams, hold casework co-ordination roles for key children, support individual team members’ professional development and deputise for the Registered Manager whilst acting as duty senior.

Applicants must have a Level 3 Diploma (Residential Childcare or equivalent). We welcome candidates with ambition as well as experience and we will train all our DCM team to Diploma Level 5.  In addition candidates must have experience of working with children with social, emotional and mental health complexities, and leading in a residential setting.

Some of our previous Deputy Care Managers have gained internal promotion to Head of Care and Registered Manager positions or have gained external promotion based on their experience with us.

Your current post may have contractual obligations to repay training costs for diplomas or other significant courses if you leave.
