We are looking for a Deputy Care Manager to join our team at Avocet House on a full time permanent basis.
The Deputy Care Manager is an important management role, leading the home’s operation during any period of duty management and holding case co-ordinating responsibility. The person appointed to this role will play a pivotal part in consolidating and developing care practice within Specialist Education Services.
The successful candidate will be one of our team of 4 DCMs supporting the Registered Manager and Head of Care. Our DCMs lead shift teams, hold casework co-ordination roles for key children, support individual team members’ professional development and deputise for the Registered Manager whilst acting as duty senior.
Applicants must have a Level 3 Diploma (Residential Childcare or equivalent). We welcome candidates with ambition as well as experience and we will train all our DCM team to Diploma Level 5. In addition candidates must have experience of working with children with social, emotional and mental health complexities, and leading in a residential setting.
Some of our previous Deputy Care Managers have gained internal promotion to Head of Care and Registered Manager positions or have gained external promotion based on their experience with us.
This is a great opportunity for someone within a social work, health or educational environment who wishes to extend their experience, or for those who aspire to the management role as the next stage in their development.
Your current post may have contractual obligations to repay training costs for diplomas or other significant courses if you leave. We value that experience and therefore if you were successful in securing a role with us we would relieve you of that obligation to your current employer and meet those costs.
If you are interested then please contact us on 01508 549320 or go to our Contact page to request an application pack.
