New experiences
New experiences!

In May, four children and six adults set off for Eurocamp in Duinrell, Netherlands.  The trip was extra special for three of the young people as they had never been abroad before, this was going to be a brand new experience for them!  The group travelled by ferry from Dover before settling in for the week at the site in the Netherlands.  The camp gave everyone the chance to experience something different and build confidence away from home.

Throughout the week, young people enjoyed swimming sessions, the theme park, relaxing together at the lodge, BBQ evenings, games nights and fully exploring everything the site had to offer.  Trips away from the camp had also been arranged, including time in Amsterdam where young people experienced a new city, explored local shops and enjoyed seeing a different culture. One young person also had the opportunity to visit the Ajax stadium — something that was a real highlight for him as he had previously completed a tour of all 92 football league stadiums in the UK!

The week came with moments of challenge, including changes to plans, tiredness and some of the group were struck down with illness, but the young people adapted well, supported each other and continued to make the most of the experience.

They all fully enjoyed the opportunity to try new things, build relationships, gain independence and create positive memories that will stay with them long after returning home.
